Ms. April Clinton
Ms. Clinton is from Durant, Oklahoma where she graduated from Durant High School and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and earned her Bachelors of Music Education.She currently holds a teaching certification in both Oklahoma and Texas. During her time at Southeastern she was a member of the Spirit of Southeastern Marching Band where she played the Flute and Piccolo and was the Drum Major for two years. On her journey through Music Education, Ms. Clinton had the opportunity to learn many other instruments, such as the Strings Instruments. She is very impartial to the Viola and Cello. Upon graduating from Southeastern, Ms. Clinton taught Private Lessons at Denison ISD and Durant ISD and was a substitute band director for Denison ISD from 2018 - 2019. In 2019, she became the Middle School Orchestra Director at Sherman ISD, teaching at both Piner Middle School and Dillingham Intermediate School, she will be celebrating her 3rd year with the Bearcats this year!
Ms. Clinton is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association. She also serves as a judge for varieties of solo and ensemble contests and concert contests for band and orchestra.
She currently lives in Durant, OK with her two dogs Payslee and Oaklee.
